Support: Manage Referral Options
The Referral Options Administration screen allows administrators to easily configure key reference data such as behaviour types, incident locations, response strategies, and more. School Administrators have complete control to add, update, or deactivate referral options to align with school-specific language and policies.
Open the Referral Options Administration Screen
- Use the left-hand menu (or bottom navigation on mobile) to open the Admin screen.
- Select the Referral Options Administration option at the bottom of the list.
Choose Data Type
- Select the tab from across the top for the referral option data you need to manage:
- Actions Taken
- Behaviour Types
- Locations
- Motivations
- Parent Contact
- Seclusion/Restraint
Add Data
- Click the Add button (top-right) to create a new referral option item.
- The Add New... screen will appear, fill in the Description.
Note : Behaviour Types have an additional Severity field (Major or Minor).
- click the ADD button (bottom-right) to create the new referral option item.
Edit Data
- Click or tap a referral option item or the
button to open it.
- The Edit... screen appears, alter the Descripton or Active status.
- If changes are made, click the SAVE button (bottom-right) to apply them.
Delete Data
- Use the
button to remove a referral option item.
Note : Referral option items cannot be deleted if they have been used on Referrals, instead you will need to De-activate the option if no longer required.
Merge Data
- Click the Merge button (top-right).
- The Merge... screen will appear, select the correct Source and Target referral option items from the dropdowns.
- click the MERGE button (bottom-right) to finalise.
WARNING: Merges cannot be undone. Double-check both records before merging.
All referrals are transferred from the Source to the Target referral option item.
The Source referral option item is permanently deleted.
Notes:
- Duplicate referral option item are not allowed even if one is de-activated, except for Behaviour Types which may have the same Description so long they have different Severities.
- There MUST always be at least ONE Active item for every referral option type.
- If Seclusion/Restraint is not required, delete or de-activate all but one such as "Not recorded" or "None" and that option WILL be automatically selected and Seclusion/Restraint WILL NOT be displayed in any Referral screens.
